MSC add seven new substances to the SVHC and update the entry for BPA

On September 25, 2017, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced on its website that nine candidate substances, including BPA, are for public comment.

On December 20, 2017, the EU member states council (MSC) agreed that seven of the nine candidate substances that ECHA had consulted with the public and the BPA added to the list of substances of high concern (excluding cobalt tetroxide), and supported Germany's proposal to update BPA related entries because of their potentially endocrine disrupting properties can have a serious environmental impact. It will be updated by mid-January 2018 with an inventory of SVHC from 174 to 181 substances. The legal obligation will take effect from the official update of the list in January 2018.

According to REACH, if the product contains SVHC, and the content is more than 0.1%, while the annual export volume is less than 1T, it is necessary to inform the downstream importers about the relevant information and issue relevant supporting documents; if the product contains SVHC, the content is more than 0.1% The annual export volume is greater than 1T and must be reported to ECHA.
