Service Overview:
Among the technical regulations related to toys in the UK, the most important one is The Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. It sets out the safety quality requirements and the conformity assessment procedures for toys. All toys entering the UK market must first meet the regulations of the UK. The specific technical details are determined through the harmonized standards EN 71 series and EN 62115. The EN 71 series standards detail the requirements for physical properties, flammability, labels, etc., while EN 62115 stipulates the relevant safety requirements for electronic toys. In addition, toys must also comply with other UK regulations, such as the UK-REACH regulation, UK-POPs regulation, UK-RoHS directive, etc.
Range of application:
Applicable to all toys, namely those designed for children under the age of 14, or products intended for their play, regardless of whether they are specifically designed for them or intended for their use.
