Service Overview:

Australia is a federal country, officially known as the Commonwealth of Australia, consisting of 6 states and 2 territories. In Australia, both the federal government and the states/regions have legislative, judicial and executive powers. If there is a conflict between the regulations of a state/region and those of the federal government, the federal regulations shall prevail. In terms of voluntary standards for toys, Australia adopts the AS/NZS ISO 8124 series of standards, which stipulate the safety of toys in aspects such as mechanics, physics, chemistry and flammability. The electrical toy safety standard AS/NZS 62115 pertains to the safety of toys that require the use of electricity at least for one function. Additionally, a series of mandatory standards and prohibition notices issued by Australia under the "Australian Consumer Law" and the "Trade Practices Act" also include requirements for toy products.

Range of application:

Applicable to all toys, that is any products or materials designed or specifically intended for use by children under the age of 14.
