Tips from CTT:
N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) and 1-ethylpyrrolidin-2-one (NEP) are dipolar aprotic solvents. DMAC and NEP are used in industrial settings and by professionals as solvents in the formulation of mixtures, for example in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals. Due to their developmental and reproductive toxicity, these two types of substances are restricted for use under Annex XVII of REACH. CTT reminds relevant enterprises to prepare in advance, strengthen raw material and factory inspection control, and ensure that products meet regulatory requirements.
