Service Overview:

The European Union is one of the key export markets for tableware, cookware, and other food contact articles from China. The EU regulates food contact materials and articles through a framework combining general legislation with specific measures for certain materials. In general, all food contact materials and articles should first comply with the basic safety requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. For specific materials, such as plastics, compliance with the relevant specific legislation is also required. Where no harmonized EU-specific legislation is available for certain materials, individual Member States may impose additional requirements based on national legislation or regulatory practice. In parallel, the EU has established the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) to facilitate the swift exchange of risk information, including information related to food contact materials, among competent authorities. Failure to comply with applicable regulatory requirements may result in notification, recall, return, or destruction of products during importation, distribution, or market surveillance. CTT provides regulatory interpretation, testing evaluation, and compliance support services based on general EU food contact legislation, material-specific regulations, and relevant technical documents, helping businesses identify applicable market requirements and carry out the corresponding conformity assessment.

Tableware: knives, forks, bowls, chopsticks, spoons, plates, drinking cups, vacuum flasks, mugs, drinking straws, etc.

Kitchen utensils: pots, spatulas, cutting boards, food storage containers, sealed jars, baking molds, etc.

Infant feeding articles: baby bottles, training cups, feeding tableware, etc.

Packaging materials and containers: packaging bags, takeaway containers, disposable lunch boxes, cling film, aluminum foil, etc.

Kitchen appliances (food contact components): coffee makers, juicers, blenders, electric kettles, rice cookers, ovens, etc.

Commercial food processing equipment (food contact components): internal components of commercial equipment, food contact conveyor belts, guide pipes, etc.
